Reflexio Qualis    translation from Latin     Reflective Nature
6 meters tall, Marine grade stainless steel, patinaed stainless steel base, solar panels and LED lighting.
Installed in three sites around the Sunshine CBD.    
This work uses the highly polished lustre of stainless steel to reflect and directly engage the local community in this artwork. The stem-like uprights of the work include inscribed symbols that were developed by members of the community. These  symbolically reference aspects of each participant’s experiences and perceptions about living in Sunshine. Each 'sketch' is quite ordinary and naive, but the combination of over 60 symbols, from the 450 collected from community, adds an extraordinary symbolic quality to the works that describe its reflective nature in a site specific way, with the audience using their culture, experience and imagination to 'Tell Their Story'.   
While the work can be contemplated from afar, it is also intended to act as a space that can be entered for individual reflection. The installation relates to a 'Spiritual' space, not religious, but a place for contemplation. With references to cathedrals, the work eludes to organic forms, and plays with the idea that the audience can see themselves as they relate to the space, albeit, in a distorted and multiple view.
